Privacy & transparency

How we handle your information

Plain English. Short. No surprises.

Last updated: June 2026. This is a citizen-led campaign, not a registered charity or company.

The short version

We collect as little as possible. We use it only to run the campaign and to meet the law. We don't sell it, and we don't share it except where we're legally required to. You can ask us to remove your details at any time.

What we collect, and why

When you support us: our payment processor, Stripe, handles your card details, and they never touch our servers. We keep only your name, email, the amount, and the date. We keep these to acknowledge your support and to track whether any single donor's contributions reach the level the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) requires us to disclose. We do not collect or store your residential address unless and until disclosure law actually requires it, at which point we'd contact you.

If you opt in to our supporters wall: we store only the display name you choose (or your first name if you leave it blank) in a separate list, with no amount or contact details attached. That name appears publicly on our “Thank you to our supporters” page. This is entirely optional, and you can have it removed any time by contacting us.

If you join the newsletter: we store your email (and name, if given) to send campaign updates. You can unsubscribe whenever you like.

If you send a sponsor enquiry: we store the name, email, optional organisation and message you provide, so we can reply.

Public disclosure (AEC)

This is a political advocacy campaign. Under the Commonwealth Electoral Act, if our campaign spending passes the disclosure threshold (more than $17,300 in a financial year, indexed annually), we may be legally required to lodge a financial disclosure return with the AEC, which can include the names and amounts of people who funded us. By supporting the campaign you accept that your contribution may be disclosed to the AEC and published on its Transparency Register where the law requires it. We will always comply with the law on this.

Where your data lives

Campaign records are stored in Google Firebase (Firestore). Payments are processed by Stripe. Both are bound by their own security and privacy obligations. Access to our records is restricted to the campaign.

No influence for sponsors

Supporting or sponsoring buys a public thank-you, not influence. No supporter sets, shapes or vetoes the campaign's position. We don't accept sponsorship from multinational technology, AI, cloud or data centre companies, or anyone acting for them.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, remove you from the supporters wall, unsubscribe from the newsletter, or delete your details (except where we're legally required to keep a record). Just get in touch.
